You can create audio products quite easily if you stay focused on that single task and do it. I know that taking the step from written products to video products, telephone coaching, or even live presentations can be intimidating. Audio products might the perfect bridge to fill that gap and make the transition easier for you.

What is the first step? Buy a USB headset (I recommend the Logitech ones) and simply read your one of your articles aloud. No one cares if your voice sounds like you are reading from a script, as long as you project your voice and read clearly. You will not sound like the professional speakers used to read audio books, but you will sound better than most amateurs out there, and that is good enough. After you record those audios of your articles you can start a podcast or offer the audios as some sort of bonus in exchange for posting to your blog, signing up for your newsletter, or even buying a product.

If you get comfortable enough recording audio, start making PowerPoint slides to complement the audio and record a screen capture video of the PowerPoint slides with you talking. Then guess what? You can save not just the video but also the audio on its own as an MP3. That way if people don't want to read your articles or e-books, they can listen to them as audio. If listening to the audio is not enough, they can view them as video.

So, if you really wanted to be clever you could offer an e-book for $ 17. When they go to buy you let them choose between the e-book or the audio plus the e-book for $ 27. If they choose that, let them decide between the audio and e-book or the video, audio, and e-book for $ 37. If they want that, offer a physical DVD audio, physical CD audio to be mailed to them, and the downloadable video, audio, and e-book available while they wait for the hard copy ... for $ 47. Sounds like a killer deal, doesn't it? But it's the exact same information as just the e-book.

Another quick way to get an audio product is with an interview. Just call someone on the phone and record a conversation about a topic you choose, for 20 minutes. This is even easier than it sounds ... all you need to do is have a conversation! You could even approach a friend and have him interview you, so you have your audio product, then you interview him, so he has his audio product. Record the call using teleseminar or webinar software, or a voice over IP program such as Skype. Then send the recorded MP3 to a dictation service to get it transcribed into text, and you are done! Instant audio product with an accompanying transcript.
